SURPRISE!!!

I got a pretty serious phone call from my father this evening asking Jeff and I to come over so that Jeff could help my him give my mom a blessing. He was going on and on as to why he wanted us to come and why he didn't just call the home teachers. So of course we agreed and we packed up little Avery...
{baby Avery:)}

and away we went off into the night. The front door was locked as usual and so Jeff knocked and we waited in the cold and guess who opened the door. Let me tell you who

it was not...
{my dad}
it also was not...
{my mom}
it wasn't even...

{Annabelle}

Who, you ask, opened the door for us?

None other than this little cutie...

{Hallie}

and her equally as cute sister...

{Megan}

Can you believe it??? All the way from KenTuCKY!!!! The whole clan:

{Kathryn and Trevor}

{Hallie, Megan and Campbell}

{and little baby Davis}

Talk about the BEST SuRPrIse ever!!!!!

Not to mention they drove, yes that is right, they DROVE for 24 hours with 4 kids... Straight through! That is love and a serious desire to spend Christmas with family!!! We are so so happy they are here and cannot wait to spend the holidays with them!

We love you G family and are SO glad you made the drive!!

3 Weeks Old

Life is hard when you are only 3 weeks old!! There's lots of things I have to do everyday!
Tummy Time... not always my favorite time of the day!

Nap Time... I LOVE nap time, especially when my mom holds me the whole time:)

Bath Time... I Hate bath time except when I get to shower with my dad!

Then there is always picture time. Lots of pictures every day!

Cuddle Time... When dad gets home, its Cuddle Time!!

Well, I guess it's not so hard to be 3 weeks old after all!

Well, Jeff had his big debut last night on KSL channel 5 SportsBeat Sunday NFL edition (thanks to my dad). Everyone was SO nice and welcoming and it was a fun and memorable experience.
Shortly after we got there they put Jeff in a room with with the highlight and instructed him to start writing and of course we knew he would be up to the challenge.
Doesn't he just look like a natural.

After he wrote the highlight and practiced several times they typed it up for him and put it on the TelePrompter. It wasn't to much longer and he was getting all mic-ed up and ready to make his appearance. Jeff's parents and sister were there along with my parents. After the highlight they had us all come on behind Jeff for just a min and even got a little close up of Avery.

He did a GREAT job and just seemed like an old pro. I am sure that he made his uncle Alan proud. We will try to get an actual clip on the blog but that might not ever materialize, we will see what we can do.

Tune In

Several weeks ago my dad nominated Jeff for 'Fan Off the Street' on KSL channel 5. He sent a really nice email to them telling them what a huge sports fan Jeff is and low and behold they got a call wanting him to appear on the show.
SO... this Sunday at about 9:40pm Jeff will announce an NFL highlight as part of the Sunday night Sports Beat Show. You will have to TUNE IN and see how he does. I hear Avery might make an appearance too:)

Our little cutie!!

Jeff and I cannot get enough of that precious little face! We just want to eat her up and ask each other about 50 times a day "how is she so cute and perfect?"!!! I know, I know, enough already but what can I say it is just one of Gods tender mercies that you think your children are cute and perfect! It's amazing how you can love someone so much!!
She is so tiny and our little cuddle bug!

She is always making us laugh with all the cute faces and noises she makes!

**And we are so happy that my sister 'finally' had her baby today(early, EARLY this morning);) We wish we could be there to snuggle him! At only 6 days apart I am sure Avery and her new (yet to be named) cousin will be very close! We are so sad we are not closer but so happy for the new happy healthy baby!! Hope he keeps up with the sleeping for you Kathryn!**

WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

Still no baby!

Believe it or not we still don't have a baby! Apparently she is just too cozy in there! So in the meantime I have been getting all kinds of things done!

It has been a good week, especially in the Craft department! Here is a taste. For more photos and details I am now a contributor on my sisters craft blog Nannygoat and so I will post my crafts mostly on there to avoid double coverage!

A Tag, My Bargains, and A SNEAK PEEK!!

A TAG-
My talented sister craft tagged me along with some other ladies in efforts to get some cute and simple Christmas gift ideas or just for craft ideas... we are ALWAYS looking for those! The rule for the tag are as follows:

1. Post a project that you have been working on lately or some thing you want to start soon.
2. Include pictures, a few instructions on how to make your fun project/craft idea, or a link to where you found the idea.
3. Then tag a few people to do the same!!

I am generally TErriBle at getting back to tags (more on that later) and frankly I probably would have slacked on this one too had I not just had a craft day with my dear friends Ashley and Chantel (Chantel is my cousin and my dear friend:))
For some reason this craft has taken us a while but we started on our Vision Boards some time ago and finally got together to make the cute cork boards to hang our 'visions' on.

Here is how we made them:

#1- We purchased unpainted open back frames from Michael's Arts and Crafts (with our 40% off coupon of course) and then painted and sealed them with our desired colors.

#2- We cut out a piece of solid cardboard to fit in the back of the open frame and proceeded to hot glue the corks onto the cardboard in our desired patterns. (My mom donated some wine corks she found at a yard sale and the rest we purchased on eBay.)

Notice in the picture below that the frame is not painted... we used it as a guide while the others were drying but do not glue all your corks down until the frame is painted and ready to go because you will not be able to get the cardboard with the corks attached in or out after they are all glued on.

#3- Hang and enjoy with either photos or as a vision board.

MY BARGAINS-

For those of you who know me at all know that I am one of the cheapest (in a good way) people you will ever meet. I was thankfully (maybe not always so thankfully at the time) brought up bargain shopping. My mom and dad always worked hard to save money so that my mom could stay home to raise us, another blessing I am truly grateful for!!! And I am also grateful to have married a man that knows how to bargain shop!
Well on with it now right?!?!
I have clipped coupons for years but have just recently gotten VERY serious about it and I am so excited and happy every time I go to the store and save SO SO much money and come away with bags full of groceries for practically nothing.

My total bill for the items shown above was.... $7.16

YEP! that is right ONLY $7.16 for:
8 bags of Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers Veggies
5 Zone Perfect Nutrition Bars
6 Arrid XX Deodorant - Ultra Fresh Scent- (the absolute only deodorant Jeff will use)

Keep in mind none of these items are pull dated or even close! They are all fresh off the shelves at my local Alberston's Super Market!

My bargain from several weeks ago:

4 Boxes of Electrosol Dishwashing power tabs...$0.36.
Yes, Yes, I typed that right, I paid 36 cents for the above pictures items. Once again fresh off the shelves of my local Albies.
I LOVE A GOOD BARGAIN!

A SNEAK PEEK-

I have been working on Avery's nursery for months and months and months now!!! The plans changed I think 2 times and even after that it has taken me way to long to get it done and well it is not actually ALL done. So here is just a sneak peek with more pictures to come once I have finished the bumper and other finishing touches!

Ken-tucky

We wanted to leave up the Ryder Cup post for a week or so, hence the lateness of this post on the rest of our vacation to Kentucky:)

Kathryn and I each had a list of all the things we needed to do when I got to Kentucky and so it went that we had a lot to accomplish but of course made sure to sneak in a lot of down time too!

Jeff of course was off to the Ryder Cup for the majority of Friday thru Sunday and stayed only until early Wednesday. The girls missed him while he was gone during the day and kept wondering why he would want to go watch people golf all day (we echoed that question!) They couldn't wait for him to get home at night to play games!!

While he was away Kathryn and I made sure to get in lots of crafting!

cute Tu Tu's and adorable bib clips

Kathryn also helped me to redo my blog template and make baby shower invites. We also made cute and simple 'thank you' cards for the upcoming 'bibi's' (we due only one day apart, by the way! never mind that I am bigger than her and it's my first and her 4th!:))

We watched a good baby video and did lots of talking about babies. I wish she could be a little... I mean A LOT closer for the big day!

Before Jeff left for Utah we made sure to go to the Louisville Slugger Museum, play at the park, take a photo opp at the Louisville Temple, go on a picnic and see the great Ohio River.

Jeff went back to work and the parting really started;)

We made our usual trip up to The Gap Clearance Center in Cincinnati. LOVE THAT PLACE! We also went to an unforgettable hot air balloon glow.

Did I mention that while we were visiting my sister had her 30th birthday??? (sorry Kathryn) Well she did! I could not have a neater, kinder, or more spiritual sister! She has been an amazing example to me my ENTIRE life!!! I hope that one day I can be as good a mom, friend, daughter, sister, and example as she is! I am so so grateful to have her as a sister and am so blessed to have her as a friend!

I LOVE YOU KATHRYN!!!
