Inspirational Blog

I ran into this blog and it made me want to be a better person! I think all the time, how I need to be better in so many aspects of my life and yet I am not actively taking the steps I need to be taking! I think this blog is full of great thoughts and ideas of things I can be doing everyday to be the person I want to be and that I know that I can be.

If you have the time, start at the beginning. Oh and make sure to watch the clip on Day 9 it is FUNNY!

Leger Christmas Party

It's hard to believe that we just finished with another year of the Leger family Christmas party! Mike and Lesley have been hosing this party for 22 years now and it is always lots of fun and a time to see how talented the family is!

After dinner and talents, Santa comes bearing gifts. Santa even brought Jeff a present, he must have been a good boy this year.

Mason (Jeremy and Emilys little boy) made his first appearance to the Christmas party and he was a big hit! You can see why, is he not a little DOLL! He is such a happy baby!

We ended the night with the usual games, the whistle game and musical chairs. I was wishing I had a video camera during musical chairs! Jeff keeps everyone laughing as he dances his way around the circle... he is a hoot!!
It was a fun night and went by way to fast! Thanks Mike and Lesley!

Lunch with the girls

How could I possibly forget to post the DH girls luncheon? Thanks for the reminder Joelle! We met in Park City this time and after a delicious lunch at Ruby Tuesdays we hit the outlets for some serious SHOPPING!

Ryker is getting so big and so cute and we all just dote over him the whole time! It was so fun to catch up with all the girls and laugh at all the old stories!

Just like old times, Ashley and I can't help but dress up in some crazy outfits at the stores if we get half a chance!!

Craft Day

Last Saturday my cousin Chantel and our friend Ashley got together for a Christmas craft day. We were cutting it a little close seeing how Christmas is like 10 days away, what can I say, I have been a few steps behind on everything this year!

I just love doing crafts and I just love these two girls! It was a very fun and successful day!

With all the estrogen in the house, Jeff couldn't help but get in on the action. Doesn't he look nice with his trendy scarf and man bag? We thought so!

I was honestly shocked that we got them all done (a total of 8 sets) before we all had to head out for the night. These are 2 of my four sets and they each did two. Chantel and Ashley's were similar to the set on the right but their top block was different (unfortunately I didn't get a chance to take any photos). We had so much fun we will probably be getting together again this week to do a few more:)

Not so curly, Curly Willow

To most this probably looks like a picture out of a Halloween movie, not the case! My mother has had a Curly Willow wreath hanging on her front room wall for years and for as many I have desperately wanted one on my front room wall!

Mine is not so curly but nonetheless makes me smile!! I can't say for sure why I love my new wreath so much but... I just do! Maybe because is sticks out almost as far as it is wide, hard to say exactly.

Oh, and do you see the Santa Claus standing on the floor next to smaller green wreath (I think I need to move that wreath elsewhere by the way) that is the only, yep, ONLY Christmas decor in my whole house. Scrooge!!

I've been tagged- redo

For some reason the date on my original 'tagged' post was Dec. 4, 2oo...8. So therefore it will show up ahead of all my post for a very long time if I don't fix it and sadly the only way to fix it (that I know of) is to re-write it and delete the other:(

Well, it's been a while ago now that I was 'tagged' by my sister Kathryn to share 6 habits or interesting facts about myself. After which I am supposed to tag 6 people to do the same and leave a comment on their blog letting them know.
Here are the problems though... first off I don't have 6 interesting things to say about myself not to mention I don't think I have 6 friends to tag. I'll see what I can come up with. Well, here goes:

*I am the worst possible speller!!! The longer I went to college the worse I got! I am sure if you have read many of my post you are well aware of this fact. Please forgive me!

*I have serious sleeping issues. Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you that I can and do sleep anytime, anywhere! Luckily I had good friends in the hygiene program with me that would take turns waking me up during exams. It was bad :o (that is a yawn). Needless to say when my alarm goes off at 5:04 in the morning I want to DIE!

*Before I got married I used to go country swing dancing every week... by myself! I LOVED IT and felt like I was pretty good at it!!! I really feel like that is the one passion I actually had in my life and I had to give it up:"( I guess he is worth it!!

*I LOVE to play board and card games. Jeff and I play them all the time together and I can never get enough. I am not all about the games you have to be smart to play but more the easy fun ones:)

*I am very allergic to guinea pigs (random huh!), we are talking eyeballs and eyelids swollen shut! NOT PRETTY! And cats give me serious asthma! I'm a nerd:)

Pain in the BUNION!

Those of you that live here close have probably seen the ads on TV for Sirex's research study for a pain medication after BUNION removal. Well, here it is, just what you all have been waiting and wanting to see... pictures of my FEET! These are of course the BEFORE pictures.

I noticed I had a BUNION just last Sept. while I was in Kentucky visiting my sister. One night I look down at my foot and I was like "Oh my HECK!! I have a BUNION!!! Sick!!"

What exactly is a BUNION you ask? ... A misalignment of the two major bones of the foot (big toe) (hallux valgus) that causes the big toe to cave in on the 2nd toe that will continually get worse over time if left untreated.

I know, I know! More than you ever wanted to know about me!
So, I made the call and got in on the action. I was screened and x-rayed and poked and prodded and they said that my BUNION qualified and that upon completion I would receive the surgery etc. for FREE and a NICE check.

I never thought I would sign up for a study again after my wisdom teeth removal study. What can I say, I am a sucker!
This one was definitely more involved, I had to stay for 2 nights and 3 days and the pain... SO much worse!!! They completly cut your bone in two pieces in a V shape, put it in the proper alignment and pin it in place. Oh, and did I mention that I get the placebo every time I do a research study? Well I do!

My Jeffrey came and got me this afternoon and about fell off his chair laughing when he saw me in my pitiful condition;). Sadly I had to leave the walker there! Honestly, that thing is ingenious! I need one!

I was so glad to get home and take that darn boot off! AAHHH!! It is going to be a long 6 weeks walking in that thing! It is going to be hard not to get up and do stuff around the house this weekend, but I am glad to be home!!
AFTER pictures will follow soon! I will be getting my bandages changed next Wed. I can't wait to see the incision and absence of BUNION! Call me Crazy!

My First Turkey!

Good Morning to me... I was up at 6:30am on Thanksgiving morning (something I'm sure my mother has done for years)! I have been watching FOOD NETWORK to get turkey recipes for the last few weeks and we were just hours aways from finding out if it would all pay off.

We had a delicious spread of all the thanksgiving dishes thanks to the hard work of many.

It was a great Thanksgiving! There were only 10 of us and we really missed all of our family that wasn't with us this year!! Maybe one year soon we can all be back together for Thanksgiving. Well, meanwhile, I have many things to be thankful for and I am grateful for this time of year to remind me to take time to appreciate and give thanks for all the things I have been given! I hope everyone had a wonderful day and that that we can all carry the graditude with us all year.

Jeff's Birthday Celebration

What can I say, birthdays just are not the same as they were when we were kids! Jeff turned 28 on Nov. 5th!!! The bad wife that I am, I didn't have anything planned for
him. Work and dinner out was all that was on the menu and due to an apt. we had to make in
Odgen, we couldn't even go to dinner where he wanted to. Poor Jeff!!
On our way to our apt. Jeff spotted the NICKEL KADE, so there you have it, we had a plan! Work, Nickel Kade, and Dinner out!

We also mixed a visit to Barnes and Noble, a favorite little activity of Jeff and mine. Overall, it wasn't anything fancy but we had a fun night and I think Jeff had a good birthday too! Hope you had a happy birthday Babe!! love you!!

It finally happened!

As long as we have been married, Jeff has been talking about getting a big screen. It used to just be talk but several weeks ago he started to get serious :/ Needless to say he found 'the one'.
His new baby is only 1 year old and measures in at 62". HELLO!!! 62" that is bigger than our entire old entertainment center.

Ummm, I don't even know what to say right here! I have been feeling a little overwhelmed by the whole thing!

He is a happy camper! It doesn't seem that big in this picture but lets just say we feel like we are sitting on the front row at the movie theater. Our eyes are still adjusting! Oh and consider this an invitation to come over and watch a movie with us... If you can handle it:)

Jazz Game

Last Thur. night was the first home game of the Utah Jazz this season and well thanks to our good friend Matt (the one in yellow), WE WERE THERE!!! Matt also hooked us up with a delicious buffet dinner downstairs before the game and snacks downstairs at half time. Oh, and did I mention lower bowl tickets:) This is the way to go!

I wish you could have heard the noise in this place! It was deafening!!! But so fun to be in the middle of it! They handed out thse clappers/ noise makers (the things Jeff is holding) I can I just tell you I was having so much fun with those silly things! Jeff is still giving me a hard time about how silly I was being. I have never been so into a game before! THANKS MATT!!!

Road trip

The 2nd annual 'golf' trip was a success!
Jeff and his long time friend Danny played in a 2 day golf tournament at Sunbrook golf course in St George. As of last year, it was decided that this would be an annual trip with the wives (actually this was my first since I was unable to make it last year due to school obligations). We were going to have to split up the party this year but at the last minute our friends ended up staying with us in a condo a good friend of mine Emily let us rent from her family.
It's a good thing that Darcie and I are great friends because we were stuck spending many hours together while the boys played 6 hour rounds of golf each day. I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of us during all of our shopping. (noticing the plaid shorts?... one of the many great bargains Darcie and I layed our hands on. Only $3 yes, $3 at Areo.)

We did have some down time too!
The condo we stayed at was so nice and cozy and had these great hats that we couldn't resist taking a picture with. Thanks Emily!!

Of course lots of good food!
We met up with Danny's family and some other friends and had dinner at the Pizza Factory. YUM YUM! Seriously, the $1 bread sticks are Divine!! The pizza, so-so.

Let us not forget all the dancing that was done on this trip!
I don't know what it was, but we all had the dancing bug the whole time we were in the SG. TOO FUN!!

We also played some silly games.
The topic game, the dancing game, the fruit game, card games... :)

And then it was all over:(
On the drive home Jeff and Danny enjoyed a little poker in the back seat while Darcie drove and we visited. It was a Wonderful get-a-way! Jeff and I keep talking about how we want to move to down there. We are ready to be snow birds!!
It had been a while since we spent some quality time with Danny and Darcie and I enjoyed every minute of it!! THANKS YOU TWO! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!

Third Anniversary

Jeff and I have a tradition of taking turns planning our anniversary get-a-way. We usually just spend one or two nights away... somewhere close. I planned a two night trip to Logan this year. It was lots of fun!

It seems like even without kids, life gets so busy and we both get doing are our things that we really need this time to reconnect. It is nice to have a weekend that we spend every minute together.

I had lots of fun things planned to do while we where up in Logan but due to inclement weather all we really did was bowling, SHOPPING and went out to eat. Oh, and we did go to the Pepperidge Farm Factory and came home with way to many cookies!
I am so grateful for Jeff and that he agree to marry me over 3 years ago! I couldn't be happier!
Happy Anniversary Babes!
