Feeling Motivated

These have been on my list of 'remodeling projects' since before we moved into our home
3 years and 3 months ago!!

It is a bit overwhelming and
I am notorious for taking FOREVER to complete a project.

But I decided I want them to be done by the time we bless our 2nd baby
SOOOO...
The projects have begun!!

STAY TUNED!!

Crazy Mad Hornets, Crazy Mad Dad and WINDOWS!

Jeff, Avery and I where taking a nice Sunday stroll minding our own business when out of the blue (and the tree branches above) come swarming hornets, in full attach mode....
Then come the screams of the little one!
We were running and could not believe what just happened. They got Avery on the head (and her jaw-line I found the next day) and Jeff on the arm.
Luckily the screams didn't last to long, that was until I laid her down for the night and she would roll over on to her right side and the screams would begin again!... Poor little thing!
Jeff kept threatening to go back and kill all those angry hornets but I don't think that has happened yet!

Since we moved into our house almost 3 years ago...ALMOST 3 YEARS AGO {wow}!
We have desperately needed new windows throughout. All the seals were broken on the almost 25 year old windows. On one of the snowy days of the first winter here, I was shocked to see snow... yes, actually snow flakes blowing into my front room.
We literally could not see out of some of them! Pathetic!
We have had multiple quotes and even at one point put money down on getting them replaced but it never happened until finally, thanks to my wonderful dad, 2 weeks ago
WE HAVE NEW WINDOWS! ... Well, at least on the front of our house.
Keep in mind Jeff or my dad have never before installed windows. My dad did lots of homework and talked to all the window guys he could get to listen on how to do it.
I had no reservations that my dad could do it and that he would do a good job of it.
He did NOT disappoint!
We are SO SO SO grateful for all his hard work and for his love (he must love us for all the work he does on this house:)) and sacrifice!
Jeff and I are still stopping each other in surprise... "Oh my, look at our front yard, you can see it from the front room"!
Oh yea, we also cut down that awful old evergreen that stood exactly where Jeff is standing in the above picture. (I have also had it out for that tree since we moved it!)
What a GREAT week!

1 year and 3 months in the making

For Christmas 2006 my sister-in-law and brother-in-law gave me this nice 'plate' holder and shortly thereafter Jeff and I hung it. It has been hanging empty in our dinning room/kitchen area ever since. I have just not been able to decide what I wanted to put on it. I kept waiting for the perfect plates that I loved to come along and well that just wasn't happening. So then one day my sister told me about a friend of hers that put picture frames on hers and so it came to be that that is what I was going to do too! Thanks Melissa from Kentucky and Kathryn for the great idea.

This picture does not do them justice, they really are so cute! (Not to toot my own horn because I am NOT creative just a good copy cat!)

Not so curly, Curly Willow

To most this probably looks like a picture out of a Halloween movie, not the case! My mother has had a Curly Willow wreath hanging on her front room wall for years and for as many I have desperately wanted one on my front room wall!

Mine is not so curly but nonetheless makes me smile!! I can't say for sure why I love my new wreath so much but... I just do! Maybe because is sticks out almost as far as it is wide, hard to say exactly.

Oh, and do you see the Santa Claus standing on the floor next to smaller green wreath (I think I need to move that wreath elsewhere by the way) that is the only, yep, ONLY Christmas decor in my whole house. Scrooge!!

It finally happened!

As long as we have been married, Jeff has been talking about getting a big screen. It used to just be talk but several weeks ago he started to get serious :/ Needless to say he found 'the one'.
His new baby is only 1 year old and measures in at 62". HELLO!!! 62" that is bigger than our entire old entertainment center.

Ummm, I don't even know what to say right here! I have been feeling a little overwhelmed by the whole thing!

He is a happy camper! It doesn't seem that big in this picture but lets just say we feel like we are sitting on the front row at the movie theater. Our eyes are still adjusting! Oh and consider this an invitation to come over and watch a movie with us... If you can handle it:)

Master switch AND outlet... FIXED!!

My dad came to our rescue this week and after approximately 6 hours of intense labor the master bedrooms 3-way light switch and outlet are in PERFECT WORKING ORDER!! hallelujah!! We cannot thank him enough for all his hard work and know-how! What a dedicated father, after a full day of work he would show up and slave away, not to mention the reading up on the subject in his down time. THANK YOU DAD!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Electrican's in the House!!

Ever since we bought our home we have had a long list of things that need to be fixed or updated. One of those projects is changing all of the light switches and plugs in the house to white instead of bisque. To my delight, Jeff said that while I was gone to Kentucky he would change them ALL!! Well off I went and my dedicated husband began slaving away at changing the switches but to his dismay it ended up being a much bigger project than antisipated. He tried to pay his cousin to do it but that didn't work either (I can't blame him). So needless to say, since I have been home we have slowly been working on them together.
The light switch in our master bedroon has had us stumped for about 1 wk now!!! It is a 3 way and we have arranged the wires on the switchs in every possible arrangement and still it is not working correctly (keep in mind we live in a 4 level split-- master is on the top floor and fuse box is on the bottom)! AUGH!!!!
TODAY I HAVE GOOD NEWS!!! THE MASTER SWITCH IS FIXED... by yours truly (while jeff was off golfing no less:)) Oh, but one bit of bad news... now the plug located between the two switches (which has not been touched) is not working!! AUGH AUGH!!!!
